The Property Malilangwe, occupying an area of 400km2, is undoubtedly one of the most important natural treasures and ecotourism areas on the Continent, and is a crucial breeding ground and nursery for endangered species. Boasting 38 different plant communities and habitat zones, Malilangwe is home to not only the ‘Big 5’, abundant plains game but also acclaimed to be the only known property in Africa where the ‘Little 6’ antelope are also found. The Estate is also home to the highest concentration of raptors in Africa, arguably the world and had over 500 species of birds. |

The Reserves primary purpose is to provide a naturally functioning and undisturbed ecosystem providing a material source of livelihood and development for communities within the district and beyond. The Trust is internationally recognized and acclaimed as an important conservation development model. |
